Newsways Distributors started as the grassroots distribution company for the Recycler, an innovative one-of-a-kind Southern California classified ad newspaper.
Starting in 1972 with one edition distributed in Los Angeles, this publication grew to over 10 regional editions with over 250,000 copies distributed to over 9,000 retailers throughout Southern California.
To better serve this varied community of retailers, Newsways began to introduce other quality titles. Weekly and regional titles like Pro Football Weekly and Western Outdooor News made this transition much easier.
However, it was Lowrider Magazine that enabled Newsways to transform into the full service independent distributor it is today. Newsways and Lowrider worked together to build the circulation to 21,000 copies in Southern California. As a result, Lowrider became one of the top-selling automotive titles in the country.
The Newsways service area has expanded to cover most of the major population centers of California representing a population base of over 25 million people. Our Sales & Marketing teams work closely with retailers to develop a selection of titles that takes into account customer demographics and the size of the store.
At Newsways, we are always looking for quality titles to expand our line and continue to bring only the best brand of service possible to an ever growing base of customers.
